The FSP Collection manufactures its products using predominantly artisanal and hand-production methods and works extensively with natural materials, including genuine leather and natural gameskins.

The Customer acknowledges that, by their nature, handcrafted products and natural materials cannot achieve the absolute uniformity associated with fully automated or synthetic-material manufacturing processes.

Accordingly, the following characteristics, where they fall within reasonable and agreed tolerances, shall not in themselves be regarded as product defects or failures under the Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL):

Natural Leather and Gameskin

Natural variations in colour, shade, grain, texture, markings, hair pattern, hair direction and other inherent characteristics of genuine leather and gameskin are considered part of the character of the material.

Minor scars, grain variations and other naturally occurring markings may be acceptable provided that they do not materially compromise the structural integrity, functionality or overall quality of the finished product.

Handmade Construction

Minor variations in dimensions, alignment, stitching, edge finishing, component positioning and other construction details may occur as a consequence of the handmade manufacturing process.

Such variations shall be acceptable provided that they fall within agreed production tolerances and do not materially affect the functionality, durability or overall appearance of the product.

Debossing and foil branding are artisanal processes involving the manual positioning and application of dies to natural materials.

Please note that minor variations in exact positioning, depth/pressure of impression, foil coverage, edge definition and finish are therefore inherent to the process and shall not constitute defects where they fall within the agreed tolerances, and the branding remains visually acceptable and clearly identifiable. We however accept that if there is significant missing foil, illegibility or materially skewed branding then this would be regarded as a defect.

An expectation of absolute placement consistency is not possible. Whilst there is no universal ISO standard specifically for foil debossing on leather goods, we believe the following tolerances are commercially reasonable for a premium handcrafted product:

• Foil debossing may vary in position by up to ±2 mm from the approved artwork location.
• Minor variations in foil coverage, impression depth and finish may occur due to the natural characteristics of leather.
• Slight differences between individual products within the same production batch are normal and are considered acceptable manufacturing tolerances.

Quality assessment should distinguish between:

• Genuine manufacturing or workmanship defects that materially affect the appearance, functionality, durability or saleability of the product; and
• Reasonable variations arising from natural materials and artisanal manufacturing processes.

Products falling within the agreed artisanal and material tolerances are regarded as conforming products for the purposes of AQL inspection. Where the acceptability of a particular characteristic is subjective, the Production Manager will approve production against agreed visual standards of conformity.

Yes. Hair-on-hide is genuine leather that retains the animal's natural hair during the tanning process. Rather than removing the hair, the hide is carefully preserved so that both the leather and its distinctive natural coat remain intact.

A well-produced hair-on-hide product should not continually shed during normal use. Like all natural materials, areas exposed to repeated abrasion may gradually show signs of wear over many years. Good tanning, thoughtful design and proper care all contribute to its longevity.

In most cases, the hair doesn't simply fall out. Areas of repeated friction gradually wear over time, much like the knees of a favourite pair of jeans. Understanding this distinction helps explain why thoughtful design and careful use greatly extend the life of hair-on-hide.

Every natural hide carries its own markings, colour variation and character created by nature. These differences are not imperfections but part of what makes every handcrafted piece unique.

Every collection begins with the material. We believe good design comes from understanding what already exists rather than adding unnecessary detail. Function, honesty, craftsmanship and longevity guide every design decision.

We believe simplicity requires discipline. Every detail must justify its place. By removing unnecessary decoration, the natural beauty of the leather and hide becomes the hero of every design.

We believe that if a remarkable natural material already exists, it deserves to become something that will be treasured for generations. Our focus is on creating products that honour the material through longevity, craftsmanship and thoughtful design.

In most cases, yes. The majority of leather used around the world comes from animals already entering the food chain for meat and dairy production. Leather gives lasting value to a material that already exists.

There is no simple yes or no answer. Sustainability depends on responsible sourcing and careful manufacturing — both core philosophies at Lindiwe. Longevity, repairability and how long a product remains in use further inform sustainability.

We believe one of the most sustainable products is one that is made to last for decades.

A hide is the animal's natural skin. Leather is what that hide becomes after it has been preserved through the tanning process. Nature creates the hide; the tannery transforms it into a durable material.

Leather is created by tanning a natural hide. The process stabilises the collagen fibres within the skin, preventing decomposition while preserving its remarkable strength, flexibility and durability.

Leather's remarkable durability comes from the collagen fibre structure created by nature. Tanning preserves that structure, allowing leather to remain strong, flexible and beautiful for decades when properly cared for.

There isn't a "best" hide. Springbok offers softness and understated elegance, Zebra is bold and graphic, while Nguni celebrates rich natural variation. The right choice is the one whose character best suits you.

Zebra hides are naturally rarer, more expensive to tan and require careful pattern placement to preserve the flow of the stripes. Their scarcity is due to government-regulated population control. Every piece is individually planned to celebrate the hide's unique character.

Springbok is generally the softest and most tactile of the natural hides we work with. Its fine hair and remarkable texture make it one of Africa's most distinctive natural materials.

Most Lindiwe products are handcrafted specifically for your order.

Our estimated production time is 5–10 working days, depending on current production capacity. During busy periods, including the festive season, production may take a little longer.

Items already in stock are generally dispatched within 2–7 working days after payment has been received.

We'll keep you informed throughout the process and let you know as soon as your order is on its way.

Every Lindiwe product is individually handcrafted by experienced artisans.

Each piece passes through material selection, cutting, stitching, finishing and quality inspection before leaving our workshop. While this takes longer than mass production, it allows us to create products with exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Occasionally, production may take a little longer due to material availability, seasonal demand, public holidays or customisation requirements. If this happens, we'll contact you as soon as possible and keep you informed of your revised delivery date.

Orders are shipped using our trusted courier partners. Once your parcel has been collected, delivery is managed by the courier and is subject to their delivery schedules. While we always aim for prompt delivery, exact delivery dates cannot be guaranteed.

Returns and exchanges are handled in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act where applicable.

If your product arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order so that we can assist.

Please note that personalised or custom-made products may not be eligible for return unless required by law.

Store your bag in a cool, dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight. When not in use, fill it with tissue paper to help maintain its shape and store it in its dust bag where possible.

Use a soft brush in the direction of the hair to remove dust. For light marks, gently wipe the hide with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking the hide or applying leather conditioner directly onto the hair.

Clean the leather using products specifically designed for genuine leather. Apply a quality leather conditioner periodically and protect it with a suitable leather protector.

The sooner you act, the better. Gently blot any spill with a clean, dry cloth to absorb as much liquid as possible. Avoid rubbing, as this can spread the stain or damage the leather.

Oil-based substances, inks and some dyes can permanently mark natural leather and hide. If your bag has a stubborn stain or pen mark, we recommend consulting a professional leather care specialist rather than attempting to remove it yourself.

Yes. Natural leather develops a rich patina as it ages, while hair-on-hide may show gentle signs of wear in areas exposed to repeated friction. These changes are part of the beauty of natural materials and reflect the journey of a handcrafted product.

At FSP Collection, we take pride in our handcrafted products, and while we strive to ensure that every item meets the highest quality standards, please note the following:

1. Handcrafted Products: Each item in our collection, particularly our Springbok and gameskin bags and homeware, is handmade. As a result, slight variations in texture, color, and fittings may occur. These differences are a natural part of working with genuine leather and hides and should not be considered defects.
2. Materials: Our products are crafted from natural, ethically sourced materials. As with all natural products, there may be inconsistencies in pattern, markings, and appearance, which adds to the individuality of each piece.
3. Production Times: The majority of our products are made to order. While we aim to meet the specified timelines, there may be unforeseen delays. We will communicate any such delays with you promptly.
4. Custom Orders: Special requests and custom orders may have extended production times and are non-refundable, except in the case of manufacturing defects.
5. Product Care: We recommend following our care instructions to ensure the longevity of your product. Improper care may result in premature wear, for which we cannot be held responsible.
6. Shipping & Delivery: We do our best to ship in-stock items within 2–7 working days. Once your item has been dispatched, FSP Collection is not liable for any delays caused by courier services or external factors beyond our control.
